Changing xScope's Application Icon

I want to use xScope's dark icon instead of the light one. How do I switch these out?

In xScope's General settings, you can turn on the application's dark icon in the Dock, however this will only be in effect while xScope is still running. To completely switch the application's icon from light to dark, you'll need to follow these instructions:

  1. Download the dark and light xScope at http://files.iconfactory.net/downloads/miscellaneous/xscope_app_icons.zip.
  2. Right click on the icon you wish to use and select Get Info.
  3. Click on the icon in the top left of the info window.
  4. Copy the icon by pressing command-C, or select Edit > Copy in the menu bar.
  5. Navigate to xScope in the Finder. If xScope is in the Dock, you can do this quickly by right clicking on it there and selecting "Show in Finder."
  6. Right click on xScope and select Get Info.
  7. Make sure that your permissions in the Info window are all set for Read and Write access.
  8. Click on the icon in the top left of the info window.
  9. Paste the new icon in by pressing command-V, or select Edit > Paste in the menu bar.

Note: If your icon has not changed at this point, log out of your computer and log back in. This should reset the Finder and force the changes.

How do I go back to the stock xScope icon?

To revert to the stock xScope icon, right click on xScope and select Get Info. Select the application icon in the upper left of the info window and press delete. If this doesn't revert the icon, log out of your computer and log back in to reset the finder. If this still does not work, use the provided light xScope icon and follow the instructions listed in the previous section.
