Sending Direct Messages From Twitterrific (Mac & iOS)

How do I send a direct message?

There are several ways to direct message a user in Twitterrific for iOS. The easiest is to simply tap the Messages item from the sidebar (or nav bar) and then tap the compose icon. You will then be able to search for the name or username of a person to begin a DM. Compose your message and press Send. If they do not follow you, you'll see an error and won't be able to send the DM.

The other method is to tap a user's avatar on a tweet from the person you want to message. On the user's profile, select the envelope icon. If you do not see an envelop icon on their profile then you know they don't accept DM's from you or are not following you. Compose your message and press send.

Select a tweet from a user you want to direct message and hit the reply arrow or simply press command-D on the keyboard. If you know the username of the person you want to message click the compose icon and type "d @username". There should be a space after the d.
