Sending Direct Messages From Twitterrific (iOS and macOS)

How do I send a direct message?

iOS

There are several ways to direct message a user in Twitterrific for iOS. The easiest is to simply tap the Messages item from the sidebar (or nav bar) and then tap the compose icon. You will then be able to search for the name or username of a person to begin a DM. Compose your message and press Send. If they do not follow you or do not have their account set to accept DM's from everyone, you'll see an error and won't be able to send the DM.

The other method is to tap a user's avatar on a tweet from the person you want to message. On the user's profile, select the envelope icon. If you do not see an envelop icon on their profile then you know they don't accept DM's from you or are not following you. Compose your message and press send.

Mac

Click the Direct Messages tab from the nav bar at the top of the timeline and then tap the compose icon. You will then be able to search for the name or username of the person you want to message to begin a DM. Compose your message and press Send. If they do not follow you, you'll see an error and won't be able to send the DM.
