Keyboard shortcuts in Linea

Linea for iOS version 1.1 offers several helpful shortcuts for iPads equipped with a keyboard. While some shortcuts use only a letter, others work in combination with the Command (⌘) keys located next to the space bar.

Below are the shortcuts listed in on-screen order:

  • T - Technical Pencil: Press the T key to switch your active drawing tool to the Technical Pencil.
  • A - Art Pencil: Press the A key to switch your active drawing tool to the Art Pencil.
  • P - Pencil: Press the P key to switch your active drawing tool to the Pencil.
  • M - Marker: Press the M key to switch your active drawing tool to the Marker.
  • E - Eraser: Press the E key to switch your active drawing tool to the Eraser.
  • Command-1 - Layer 1: This shortcut will take you to Layer 1, which is the bottom most layer in your Linea document.
  • Command-2 - Layer 2: This shortcut will take you to Layer 2.
  • Command-3 - Layer 3: This shortcut will take you to Layer 3.
  • Command-4 - Layer 4: This shortcut will take you to Layer 4.
  • Command-5 - Layer 5: This shortcut will take you to Layer 5, which is the top most layer in your Linea document.
  • Commmand-Right Bracket ( ] ) - Bring Layer Forward: The shortcut will take the layer that you are currently working on and move it up one layer in the stack.
  • Command-Left Bracket ( [ ) - Send Layer Backward: This shortcut will take the layer that you are currently working on and move it down one layer in the stack.
  • Delete - Clear Layer: This shortcut will delete the layer that you are currenrtly working on.
  • Command-Z - Undo: This shortcut will undo your last action.
  • Command-Shift-Z - Redo: This shortcut will redo your last action.
  • R - Reset Canvas: Press the R key to reset Linea's canvas to 100% and Landscape orientation regardless of the zoom level or rotation of the document.
  • Command-L - Lock Canvas: This shortcut will prevent Linea's canvas from being zoomed or rotated.
