iPulse security authorization dialog

Sometimes the iPulse security authorization dialog will appear and sometimes it won't. If it doesn't appear, that doesn't necessarily mean that it's broken.

The simplest explanation about why this happens is because the system.privilege.taskport credential in /etc/authorization is shared, so another process may have already obtained it for iPulse. Of course, with all things related to security, there's a much more complex answer :-) Here's a technical Q&A from Apple:

The quickest way to check that security is OK is if you see a list of processes when you hover over the center CPU gauge: it there are processes listed, you're authorized.

If you need to reset the security authorization for some reason, you can use the following command from the Terminal:

$ security authorize -ld system.privilege.taskport

(That's an ell after the dash.)
