I come from Windows and it sounds like xScope is a tool I need for my Mac with the exception of one tool.

Can xScope pick up the color of any color on the screen and then give me the RGB and Hex values?

Yes, using the Loupe tool you can copy a color value from your screen. You download xScope and try it for free by using the Try It button at http://iconfactory.com/software/xscope and see if it does what you need. Hope this helps.
